Celia Bryce is a singer/ song-writer born and raised in Jarrow and still lives on Tyneside. She fronts country rock band,
The Katy Freeway (previously known as Virginia Slims), gigging up
and down the region and has just released her first solo album "No Deals,
No Promises". Celia started out in folk music leaning mainly towards Irish
traditional songs and tunes and continues to play accordion and to sing at sessions
in Ireland on her regular visits there. She has been writing songs for over twenty years.
As creative writing teacher and regularly published writer of commercial and literary
fiction Celia also writes for children, the stage and radio, working as a freelance writer
and performer in schools, colleges and arts centres. She has written songs and melodies
for educational videos, community film and for stage plays.
